FAQs
What is an RO Water Purifier?
An RO water purification system or Reverse Osmosis contains a semi-permeable membrane that reduces Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) from water along with several other impurities like Bacteria, Viruses, heavy metals, chemicals, and other impurities. As water passes through the semi-permeable membrane, it only allows water to pass through it, while flushing away the impurities.
A semi-permeable membrane is used in reverse osmosis water purifiers that allows only clean water to pass through. During reverse osmosis, even the tiniest particles or dissolved solids are not allowed to pass through these membranes, thus, making the water healthier and tastier to consume.
How does Reverse Osmosis (RO) Purifier work?
Reverse Osmosis (RO) - A pressure-driven membrane separation technique to reduce the concentration of dissolved solutes such as minerals, salts and organic species in water. Reverse osmosis uses an applied pressure to drive the transport of water across a semi-permeable membrane from a more concentrated solution (feed) to a more dilute solution (permeate) RO Membrane is a semi-permeable barrier that allows the preferential passage of water.
Why should you buy an RO Water Purifier?
If your water source has high TDS, i.e. tastes salty, it is recommended to use an RO water purifier. TDS levels upto 500 ppm are considered to give natural or regular taste to water for human consumption. As per BIS, USEPA, and WHO, if the TDS exceeds 2000 ppm, water can be unsafe for consumption as it may contain more sulphate, chlorides, and other chemical impurities.
For example, suppose the input water source has high arsenic levels, or high iron levels but TDS levels are less than 300 ppm or 500 ppm. Then, you require an RO water purifier to remove these harmful contaminants.
Ideally, zero TDS is best for health because it ensures 100% water purity. But 100% pure water does not have any taste. Besides, water is the best way to infuse essential chemicals like magnesium, and calcium. Therefore, the WHO has stipulated TDS levels up to 300 ppm as suitable for human consumption.
What is Ultraviolet (UV) Water Purifier?
Ultraviolet or UV water filtration system uses UV or ultraviolet rays in order to kill all the harmful bacteria from the water. Hence, it disinfects the water from all the pathogens. UV purifiers are also good for health because it kills all the harmful microbes present in the water without affecting the taste.
How does Ultraviolet (UV) Water Purifier work?
Ultraviolet or UV rays penetrate all the harmful pathogens present in the tap water destroying all the illness-causing microorganisms by attacking their genetic core. It also destroys 99.99% of harmful microorganisms without adding chemicals.
What is Copper Water Purifier?
Copper water purifiers provide 100% safe drinking water by removing all bacteria, viruses, and harmful germs, while adding the goodness of copper to your drinking water. It comes with a unique and sophisticated dual water dispensing feature that allows customers to choose between copper RO water and regular RO water, while enhancing your overall health and well-being.
Is it safe to use a copper water purifier?
Yes, using a copper water purifier is completely safe as Copper is one of the most important minerals that benefit the human body. Copper can also help you reduce weight, avoid inflammation, and improve your overall health. Copper purifiers are effective at killing bacteria in water. When you purchase copper water purifier, you are also providing your body with a variety of health benefits.
Do RO water purifier need maintenance?
Reverse osmosis systems should be maintained on a regular basis for maximum efficiency. RO systems typically contain three, four, or five filter stages. Because chlorine and TDS can damage the RO membrane, this is critical. Also, every 6-9 months, this carbon filter should be updated.
When to replace your RO membrane?
An increase in the RO permeates conductivity, as related to their water quality need, with time, usually after 3 years (the membrane manufacturer's warranty period). A reduction in the permeate/product flow rate as a function of water requirement.
What are the benefits of drinking RO purified water?
RO water purifiers provide mineral-rich drinking water that is free of chemicals, heavy metals, pesticides, and other dangerous contaminants. RO membranes can protect your family from waterborne infections as they reduce the TDS level and turn the hard water up to 2000 PPM into soft water. Thus, the water is sweetened, allowing you to drink it more regularly.
